Terms of Service

By using LA MAPPA UNIPI, its websites, Telegram bots, social media pages and any other service connected to it (hereinafter, collectively, the "Service"), you declare that you have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms of Service. If you do not accept any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.

1. Nature of the Service

"LA MAPPA UNIPI" (hereinafter, the "Service") is an independent personal project for purely informational purposes, created and operated by Lyubomyr Malay (hereinafter, the "Owner"). The Service collects and aggregates publicly available data from third-party sources — including university portals, public bodies, transport services and commercial businesses — and presents it in a unified and accessible form.

The Service is made available "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement of third-party rights.

The Service is in no way affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or connected to the University of Pisa, DSU Toscana, Pisamo S.p.A., or any other institution, body or company whose data is aggregated or displayed. Any data displayed is the result of automated processing and has not been validated by the respective sources.

2. Exclusion of Warranties

The Owner provides no warranty, whether express or implied, regarding:

• The accuracy, completeness, timeliness or reliability of the information displayed — including opening hours, prices, availability and opening status
• The continuous, uninterrupted and error-free operation of the Service
• The correctness and timeliness of data from third-party sources, which may change without notice
• The suitability of the Service to meet the user's specific needs or expectations
• The absence of viruses, malware or harmful components

The data displayed by the Service — for example canteen opening hours, classroom occupancy, bike availability, cinema showtimes and train departures — is retrieved automatically from third-party sources and may be incorrect, incomplete or out of date for reasons beyond the Owner's control.

The user is required to always independently verify any information before basing decisions of any kind on it. The Service does not in any way replace official sources.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Owner and any person involved in the creation of the Service shall in no event be liable for:

• Direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages of any kind, even if foreseeable
• Loss of data, profits, opportunities or expected savings
• Damages arising from the user's reliance on the information provided by the Service — for example, missing a train because the displayed timetable was incorrect, going to a closed facility whose opening hours were different, or consuming a meal based on incorrect nutritional information
• Damages arising from the inability to access the Service, or from its interruption or malfunction
• Damages arising from errors, omissions, inaccuracies or delays in the data displayed, regardless of the cause
• Damages arising from the improper, unlawful or unintended use of the Service by the user
• Any damage or loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if the Owner had been previously advised of the possibility of such damages

This limitation applies regardless of the legal basis of the claim — whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory.

4. User Responsibility

The user acknowledges and agrees to be solely and exclusively responsible for:

• Their use of the Service and any action taken or decision made on the basis of the information contained therein
• Independently verifying the accuracy and reliability of the data displayed, always consulting official sources before acting
• Complying with all applicable laws, regulations and rules in the territory in which they are located while using the Service
• Any consequence — including material, economic or other damages — arising from the improper, abusive or unintended use of the Service
• The security of their own device and network connection

5. Third-Party Data

The Service aggregates and exposes data from external third-party sources. The Owner:

• Does not control, verify or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of such data
• Is not responsible for errors, omissions or malfunctions in external data sources
• Is not responsible for any changes, suspensions or interruptions of the third-party services from which the data is retrieved
• Is not responsible for any consequences arising from the unavailability or inaccuracy of third-party data

The user acknowledges and agrees that third-party data may be subject to delays, errors or interruptions beyond the Owner's control.

6. Indemnification and Hold Harmless

The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Owner from and against any claim, demand for damages, damage, loss, cost or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) the user's use of the Service; (b) the breach of these Terms; (c) the infringement of third-party rights; (d) any action taken by the user on the basis of the information provided by the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The original content, the design, the "LA MAPPA" trademark, the logos and the associated visual identity are the exclusive property of the Owner and may not be reproduced, copied or reused without written authorization.

Data from third-party sources remains the property of the respective rights holders and is subject to their respective licenses and terms of use.

8. Permitted Use

The user agrees not to use the Service to:

• Carry out unlawful or fraudulent activities, or activities that violate applicable laws or regulations
• Access or attempt to access data, systems or functionalities not intended for the user
• Overload, damage or compromise the infrastructure of the Service (mass scraping, DDoS attacks, etc.)
• Collect data from the Service for commercial purposes without authorization
• Make any use that may harm the Owner, other users or third parties

9. Availability and Changes

The Owner reserves the right, at the Owner's sole discretion and without any obligation of prior notice, to:

• Modify, suspend or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service or any of its features
• Update, supplement or modify these Terms of Service at any time
• Discontinue the project entirely without any obligation towards users

Continued use of the Service after any changes to these Terms constitutes implicit acceptance of those changes. It is the user's responsibility to review this page periodically to check for any updates.

10. No Professional Relationship

Use of the Service does not create, and shall not be construed as establishing, any professional, contractual, consulting, agency or fiduciary relationship between the user and the Owner. The information displayed by the Service does not constitute advice of any kind — legal, medical, academic, financial or otherwise. Any decision made by the user on the basis of the information provided by the Service is taken at the user's own and sole risk.

11. Related Services

These Terms apply to all services and platforms operated by the Owner under the "LA MAPPA" brand, including but not limited to:

• The website lamappa.org and all its subdomains
• The Telegram bots (DOVEUNIPIBOT, CIBOUNIPIBOT and others)
• The associated social media pages (Instagram, Telegram, GitHub)
• Any other connected service, application, API or tool

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Italian law. For any dispute arising from the use of the Service, the parties shall first attempt an amicable resolution. Failing resolution, the exclusive jurisdiction shall lie with the court of the Owner's place of residence.

Any invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Terms shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

13. Use at Your Own Risk

Use of the Service is entirely at the user's own risk. The Owner disclaims any and all liability for damages, losses or consequences of any nature arising from the use of, the inability to use, the reliance on or the abuse of the Service, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
